A Seasoned Goose Hunting Guide Serving Maryland’s Eastern Shore
Q: What are the hunting fees?
A: Call B & J Guide Services for seasonal rates at 410-708-0390.
Q: What’s included?
A: The hunting fee includes the hunting location and guide services for the day. Blinds, tree stands, ground blinds, and decoys are also provided.
Q: Is lodging included?
A: Hunters are expected to book their own lodging in Chestertown, Md. Reduced rates are available for B & J hunters at the Comfort Suites and Holiday Inn Express.
Q: What do I need to bring?
A: Warm clothing, rain gear, hunting boots, guns, shells ( BB,2 or 1 shot), and license. Hip boots are required for water hunting.
Q: Where do we meet?
A: Usually at your motel. Call B & J the night before your hunt to confirm. (It’s best to call after 7:00 PM.)
Q: Is the guide’s fee included in the cost?
A: The Guide is paid by B & J, however, his gratuity is not. If he works hard and provides an enjoyable day for you, let him know it.
Q: When are the seasons?
A: The seasons are set by the State of Maryland usually by August of each year. Check with the Department of Natural Resources website. Archery season begins mid-Sept., Goose Season begins in mid-December, ducks have a split season.
Q: What hunting license is required?
A: Maryland offers a three-day waterfowl license. A state waterfowl stamp is also required to hunt waterfowl in addition to a federal waterfowl stamp.
Q: Is game bird and deer cleaning available?
A: Yes, a modest fee will get your bird looking like it came from the market. Deer processing and taxidermy services are also available.
Q: How do I book the hunt?
A: Call or email B & J to ask for dates. Once the dates and type of hunt are confirmed, a 50% deposit is required. (Deposit due within 3 weeks of booking.)

A: We are in the central portion of the Eastern Shore of Maryland in Chestertown.
